Yuiko Kawasaki
Born in Chiba Prefecture, which has much in common with Wakayama culture such as soy sauce and Kinzanji miso, she moved to Nakahechi-cho, Tanabe City 8 years ago.
She started growing rice in terraced rice paddies and later started an omusubi (rice ball) shop. A few years ago, she took over a tangerine farm by the sea, where she grows both rice and tangerines without using pesticides or fertilizers. Through her contact with nature, she became aware of the importance of the movement of the sun and the calendar, and holds "Calendar Storytime Meetings" and other events.
