We have always understood the world through words and our eyes. How would this change if we used our sense of smell and touch more? Let’s discuss how we usually see things differently with the people around us and how we feel.
“Try it once, try it again” workshop.
[Part 1] Sight and Touch
Through the process of creating the work, Try It Once (1992), we will examine the ambiguity of perception, the richness of the senses, and the ways of feeling that do not rely solely on sight. By having visitors relive the process of making the work, Once Try It (1992), and by fully mobilizing their physical senses other than sight, they will consider the ambiguity of perception, the richness of the senses, and the nature of sensation that does not rely solely on sight.
[Part 2] Sight and Smell
Since smell is diffuse, the sense of smell is more subjective than the other senses, and gender and individual differences are greater. Therefore, we will actually block out the sense of sight and experience only the sense of smell. This workshop is designed to experience the mixed characteristics of the sense of smell, using the scent of mandarin oranges as a theme to sharpen this sense.
